1. Problem Statement
Many car owners in India complain of hidden costs and lack of transparency. Customers often do not know in advance what repairs are needed, how long service will take, or what it will cost. At local garages, mechanics may simply list extra parts needing replacement without clear explanation, leaving owners feeling exploited. This mistrust is borne out in surveys: for example, 27% of customers said their last service bill was higher than expected. Similarly, J.D. Power found 77% of customers still schedule service by phone because they often need to “speak to someone” to clarify issues, a sign that digital channels and transparency are underused. Only about 6,500 authorized dealerships exist for India’s 30+ million cars. so most owners rely on small local garages (an estimated 300,000 roadside workshops). In sum, the key pain points are high/unexpected costs, poor communication (long waits, opaque pricing), and low trust in service quality
2. Objective
The industry is still relatively offline, but digital is emerging. A J.D. Power study (2021) found only 23% of owners used any online channel to schedule service (77% still call), citing urgency and personal help as barriers.
Since it's 2025 and smartphones are capable of almost anything, why not give users a platform to get their car service done in 4-5 clicks?

Competitive Analysis
The car service market is highly fragmented. Apart from authorized dealer workshops (OEM-owned), there are chain garages and online aggregators
GoMechanic – A fast-growing online network that partners with multi-brand garages. It operates ~800 workshops in 125+ cities. As of FY24, GoMechanic had ~8 lakh monthly active users.
Pitstop – Bengaluru-based startup (backed by Mahindra group) with a mobile app and service vans. It trained and certified hundreds of local garages. By early 2021 Pitstop had served ~300,000 orders and was processing ~₹2.5 crore in revenue per month. Pitstop emphasizes transparent billing and offers both home pickup/drop and garage service
Startups like Fixcraft, Carconomy, and Elite (Servecars) operate in select cities, connecting mobile mechanics and garages via apps. Quikr Autos and Droom offer booking/rescue features.
Emergency assistants like ReadyAssist, TowMe, and GetRescued focus on breakdown support (towing, fuel delivery, minor fixes).
In aggregate, the market has ~300,000 small independent garages, ~1,000 branded multi-brand workshops, plus 6,500 authorized dealerships
